Oklahoma Academic Standard 6. The student will investigate how post-war social, political, and economic events continued to transform the state of Oklahoma from the 1950s through the present.  

Objective 6.3  Describe the artistic contributions of Oklahomans in the fields of music, art, literature, theater, and dance such as Ralph Ellison and the Five Indian Ballerinas.

In a Nutshell

This objective provides students an opportunity to extend their knowledge of the contributions of notable Oklahomans by investigating the lives of remarkable Oklahomans whose achievements have directly impacted the state and its citizens. It is important for students to realize the potential of any laborer in any enterprise to make a positive impact on his or her community.
