In a Nutshell
|
The Revolutions of the Americas were inspired by the ideas of the Enlightenment bringing into practice democratic principles in governments. However, some revolutions did not change society significantly beyond the structure of government. Students should understand of how the Haitian and Latin American Revolutions were characterized by upheaval over slavery and the Spanish colonial caste system.
